OLD BOYS CLUB ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Old Boys Cricket Club was held on Wednesday, the patron, Mr E. Sortain Smith being in the chair. Mr Smith expressed pleasure at the number of members and intending members who were present, and stated that such a representative attendance augured well for the coming season. Officers were elected as follow —Patron, Mr E. Sortain Smith; president, Mr A. A. McPherson; vice-presidents, Messrs A. Sutherland, N. G. Rayner, N. G. F. Whiteman, J. W. Bird, W. A. Todd. G. D. Wilson. F. G. Maunsell, G. G. Hancox, and T. Handcock; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. Lendrum; club captain, Mr J. K. Logan; committee, the secretary, club captain, team captain and Messrs P. G. Ramsay and J. Kemnitz; delegates to Wai-, rarapa Cricket' Association, Messrs A. A. McPherson, P. G. Ramsay and R. Lendrum; hon auditor, Mr A. McWhinnie; gear stewards, Messrs J. E. Oakden, H. A. Guy and L. M. Roach; social committee, Messrs Lendrum, Roach and O. Hatton. In appreciation of his past services, and of his keen interest in the affairs of the club, Mr F. G. Maunsell was elected a life member. Messrs M. W. Dixon, W. D. McPhee, R. E. Kember, W. Parsonson, A. W. McGregor, R. E. Hendry, A. J. Andrews and J. Payne were elected members of the club. The following remit was decided upon for forw’arding to the Wairarapa Cricket Association: ‘'That it be a recommendation that the rules as to the hours of play be amended so that play will commence at 1.30 p.m. and terminate at 6 p.m. Messrs O. Hatton, R. Lendrum and J. Kemnitz were appointed a sub-com-mittee to endeavour to arrange a junior team. The subscriptions were left unaltered; the junior subscription being fixed at 15s, reducible to 12s 6d for prompt payment. A vote of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr E. Welch. The secretary was instructed to write a letter to the Principal of Wairarapa College expressing the club’s appreciation of the excellent practice wicket which had been prepared last season. It was decided to make the usual donation of £1 Is to the College Sports Fund. Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers and the Press. LANSDOWNE CLUB BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Lansdowne Cricket Club was held last evening, Mr A. V. Faulknor (vice-presi-dent) being in the chair. Mr Faulknor referred to the successful year the club had experienced, and congratulated it on winning the Wairarapa senior championship, and the Bidwill Cup. It was also very pleasing, he said, to see the club in such a sound financial position. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr P. J. Borthwick; president, Mr G. Whiteman; vice-presidents, Messrs F. W. Groves, A. V. Faulknor, S. Gilman, E. R. Rogers, H. Brown, J. C. Ewington, S. Cooper, F. Yule, H. Preston, J. Whiteman, A. Stubbings, R. Matthews; club captain, Mr R. G. Clarke; treasurer, Mr A. G. Hedley; secretary, Mr V. Greer; committee, Messrs D. V. Groves. A. Whiteman, W. Whiteman, A. Stubbings; delegates to Wairarapa Cricket Association, Messrs W. S. Brice, R. G. Clarke, G. V. Greer; hon auditor, Mr T. A. Cunningham. It was decided to enter a senior team in the competitions. The question of whether a junior team would be entered was held over for further consideration.
