ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY

SECOND CONCERT FOR SEASON. A well-balanced and delightful programme has been prepared for the second concert of the 1938 season by the Masterton Orchestral Society, to be given in the Opera House next Tuesday." With over 40 players under the baton of Mr J. Candy, the programme is truly representative of the classical and modern schools. Miss Edith Ralph, the well-known ■ singer, will render items by Debussy, Mozart and Elgar. Miss Ralph’s songs have been specially orchestrated for this concert and particularly fine effects have been gained in the rendering of “Recit at Air de Lia” by Debussy. A number of Orchestral sets have been presented to the Society but other similar gifts would be welcomed.
