TRADE AGREEMENTS
CANADA, BRITAIN & U.S.A. ANTICIPATION OF EARLY APPROVAL. SOME CONCERN OVER LOSS OF PREFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Conyright. (Received This Day, 8.55 a.m.) OTTAWA, September 21. Government circles predict the early approval of new trade agreements among Canada, England and America, despite some dissension. Reports that wheat, lumber and fruit preference will be sacrificed has caused considerable concern, particularly in the Western Provinces. It is reported that the willingness of the United States to give Canada a preferential market for lumber and fruits is considered inadequate compensation for the loss of British preference.
