A Mock Sun.

IVIUGK QMII. An unusual phenomenon was seen in Auckland shortly after 5 o’clock' on Tuesday when a mock sun appeared in the western sky. The sun itself was clearly visible and near it could be seen the fainter image of the mock sun. Such phenomena are not common in the Dominion, but are often seen in the Arctic and Antarctic regions, where three and sometimes four images of the sun are seen.

School Museum. Several interesting additions have been made to the Central School Museum, including an old three-cornered bayonet which was dug up in a Masterton garden quite recently; a club, unearthed at Gladstone, for beating fern roots; a model outrigger canoe. 3ft long, presented by Mr J. Robertson, and a kava bowl sent by Judge Ayson, of the Ccok Islands, who was at one time a scholar of the school.
