WAGES AND STAFF INCREASES EFFECT OF AGREEMENT Under the agreement between hospital boards and the New Zealand Federatel Hotel Union of Workers, it will cost the Wairarapa Hospital Board an additional £lOOO for the balance of the financial year to meet the necessary increases in wages and staffs of domestics at the institutions controlled by the board. The agreement was ratified by the Wairarapa Board at today’s meeting, when the chairman, Mr H. H. Mawley observed: ‘'We can do nothing else about it.” Mr Arch Clark: “The poor old ratepayer will have to foot the bill.”
