HOTEL FIRE
HEAVY DAMAGE DONE IN. SYDNEY BLAZE. ORIGIN IN LINEN CLOSET. SYDNEY, September 20. The damage done to the Wentworth Hotel is estimated at over £30,000. but. 1 strangely enough, the external walls of the hotel, which is not a modern one, show little sign of the fire, which started in a linen closet on the fourth floor. 1 Examination of the boy, William Redmond, who leapt to his death revealed that he was burned about the body. His skull was fractured by the fall. His bedroom was also severely damaged by the fire. The Wentworth Hotel is where the Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lyons, stays when in Sydney and also All Black footballers. • j Most of the New Zealand visitors to [ the hotel transferred to other hotels : today, congratulating themselves on . their lucky escape.
