Four passengers were killed and forty injured and six of the crew are believed to have been killed, as a result of a head-on collision between two Southern Pacific trains, 180 miles j from Los Angeles. Apparently a switch did not work, causing the Argonaut, from New Ort leans, to crash -into the Chicago bound 1 Californian, which was waiting on a i siding. Both locomotives were over- ■ turned.
