Wagg, of Mastertdn, has returned home from a holiday spent at Palmerston North and Paraparaumu. Mrs V. Harkness (Taranaki), who has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs H. P. Glen, Masterton, left yesterday on her return home. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Montes, only daughter of Mr O. Olsen, Alfredton, to Duncan Miller, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Thos. McFarlane, Invercargill. CARTERTON Mrs H. B. Keenan, of Park Road, Carterton, has returned from a holiday in Wellington. Miss D. Pye, of the Tourist ment, who has been the guest of Mrs Robert Fisher, Carterton, has returned to Wellington. Miss Gwen McKenzie, of the nursing staff of the Public Hospital, Wellington, is at present on sick leave and is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs J. McKenzie, of High Street. ALFREDTON BRIDE-ELECT ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) Last Thursday Mesdames G. Yarrall, J. Hartley and W. Rolls were hostesses at a gift afternoon held in the supperroom of the hall for Miss Rene Godinagh, whose marriage took place dn Saturday. The bride-elect was the recipient of numerous and useful gifts. Mrs S. M. George, on behalf of the Alfredton Tennis Club, presented the guest of honour with a pair of bookends. Competitions, community singing a dainty afternoon tea helped to make the function a very enjoyable one. Personal. Miss Jean Flemming and Miss Kennedy are visitors to the district. Miss Jocelyn Pattison (Hawke’s Bay) is spending a holiday with Miss Sylvia Napier, “Strath Eden.”
