School Dance.
The Masterton East School Association held a most enjoyable dance on Saturday night. The Ladies’ Committee supplied the supper. Mr A. Barnes’ music, combined with a first-class floor, made dancing a real pleasure. Mr. H. Hood played an extra. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss N. Bartosh and Mr E. Mills. Mr. G. Selby was M.C. Boy Scout Conference. The Dominion Council of the New Zealand Boy Scouts’ Association will meet in Wellington on Friday, when the Governor-General, Lord Galway, in his capacity of Dominion Chief Scout, will officially open the annual conference. The Centennial Jamboree in New Zealand will be discussed. The meeting will be attended by public men from many parts of New Zealand who are interested in the movement, as well as the commissioners in charge of the 30 scout districts of the country and the organisers of the forthcoming jamboree. The conference will continue the following day.
