Ottawa, Canada. —Indicative of the increasing popularity of Canadian cheese abroad, 69,791 cwt. of this Canadian product has been exported in the first five months of 1938 as compared with 57,570 cwt. in the corresponding months of 1937. The value of these exports increased from 870,873 dollars in these months of 1937 to 1,104,273 dollars this year to the end of May. An estimate by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics shows that 17,820,4781bs of cheese was in storage in Canada on July 1 as compared with 17,252,2081bs on the same date a year ago.
