LABOUR PARTY

DANCE AND EUCHRE PARTY. A dance and euchre tournament was held in the Y.M.C.A. last evening under the auspices of the Masterton branch of the Labour Party. The function was a most successful one. The card room and dance hall were both filled to capacity, and those present spent a most enjoyable time. The card prizes were won by Mrs Uden and Mr Simpson, and the Monte Carlo by Mr and Mrs Oliver. The music was supplied by Messrs Barnes and Longworth. Mr R. Wilton acted as M.C. Supper was served by members of the ladies committee under the leadership of Mrs J. E. Dixon. . The committee has decided to hold a dance in the Masonic hall on September 24, and another dance and euchre tournament on September 29 in the Y.M.C.A., arrangements having been completed to make both these functions a success.
