General situation- Pressure is now high to the east; a rather shallow depression is located between Cape Maria Van Dieman and Norfolk Island, while a deep one extends -from south-western Australia across the south Tasman Sea. Forecast: Freshening north-east to northerly winds later tending more westerly and rising to* gale force in places; weather mainly overcast, with rain at times; temperatures mild.
