GUARANTEED PRICE
PROTEST BY FARMERS. AT DELAY IN ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HAMILTON, September 14. An emphatic protest against the Government’s delay in announcing the guaranteed price for the season was made at a meeting Of the South Auckland Dairy Association in Hamilton today, when the following motion was carried unanimously:— That this meeting of members of the South Auckland Dairy Association views with grave concern' the announcement made in the House by Mr Nash to the effect that experts are engaged in, examining the evidence submitted to the guaranteed price advisory committee and enters an emphatic protest against the delay in announcing the price and making the committee s report available to the industry, pointing out that the report has now been in the hands of the Minister nearly a month. The meeting also discussed various statements made by prominent men in the industry and the following motion was also carried: — That this meeting of members of the South Auckland Dairy Association stropgly recommends all its members and dairy company directors to refrain from making any statement on the guaranteed price for the present season when announced until they as individuals have had the opportunity of perusing the guaranteed price Advisory Committee’s report which the Minister has undertaken to publish immediately the announcement of the price is made.
