LATE PRINCE ARTHUR
MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE ACKNOWLEDGED WELLINGTON, This Day. The Governor-General has received from his Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught the following reply to the message sent by his Excellency:— “My most grateful thanks to you and Lady Galway for your kind message of sympathy. Please convey to the Government and people of New Zealand my deep appreciation of their touching message in my profound sorrow. (Signed) ARTHUR.” Flags will be flown at half-mast on all Government buildings through the Dominion tomorrow, the day of the funeral of the late Prince Arthur of Connaught. FUNERAL AT WINDSOR. (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 10.55 a.m.) RUGBY, September 14. The remains of Prince Arthur of Connaught were brought last night to the chapel of the Middlesex Hospital, to lie in state day and night under a guard of honour of nurses until the funeral at Windsor on Friday. Prince Arthur was chairman of this hospital for many years.
