Mr A. Stevens, a well known Wellington resident, is visiting Masterton. Mr F. G. Nind, chief postmaster at Invercargill, has been appointed senior inspector at the General Post Office, Wellington. Mr Nind expects to arrive in Wellington toward the end of the month. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow by the Electric Supply Authority Engineers' Association at its conference in Wellington yesterday:—President, Mr M. Cable first vice-president, Mr J. A. Smith; second vice-president, Mr A. Buckingham; executive committee, Messrs H. L. Benjamin. G. T. Edgar, J. C. Forsyth, E. F. Hollands, W. H. Huggett, and T. R. Overton. The death occurred at Wellington of Mr William Holland Andrews, aged 86 years. Mr Andrews arrived in New Zealand by the sailing ship Alma in 1857. He was employed by the Manawatu Railway Company in their workshops, and continued on under the New Zealand Government when the company’s railways were taken over by the Government. His wife predeceased him by eight years. He is survived by two sons, W. N. and W. E. Andrews, and two daughters, Mrs H. Nicholson and Mrs C. Ellison.
