Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 30.17. Shade temperature: Maximum 63.5, minimum 51,6, terrestrial 41.2. Sunshine, 8 hours 52 min. LONGBUSH RAINFALL. Mr A. C. Gawith, “Waikoukou,” Longbush, reports as follows: —In July 433 points of rain fell. The heaviest fall was 88 points on July 12. The average for 19 years was 413 points. In August 2T74 points of rain were registered, the average over 19 years being 423. General situation: Pressure is still high to the worth, but an extensive series of deep westerly depressions is moving eastward, in southern latitudes. Forecast: Strong, squally west to northwest winds, reaching gale force in many place s; wjeather unsettled, with intermittent raiei, more especially in and west of! the ranges; temperatures warm east cif the* ranges and mild elsewhere.
