WEDDING

BO OTH—SCR IVENER. The marriage took place at the Masterton Methodist Church on Saturday of Miss Joan Eleanor Scrivener, only daughter of Mr and Mrs G. L. Scrivener, Masterton, and Mr James Henry Bruce Booth, third son of Mrs R. L. Ferguson and the late Mi’ H. J. Booth, of Manaia, Taranaki. The Rev F. Parker officiated. A lovely ’frock of ivory lace over satin was worn by the bride, the skirt being fashioned to form a train. Her veil of tulle fell from a coronet of lilies and orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful bouquet of lilies, friesias and hyacinths. The bride was escorted by her father. Cousins of the bride, Miss Hilda Young, of Wanganui, and Miss Joy Miller, of Dunedin, were bridesmaids. They were dressed alike in frocks of salmon pink needle-run lace over satin. They carried bouquets of blue irises, pink camelias, and hyacinths. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs T. Booth and L. Ferguson.

The guests were afterwards received at the reception held in the Cosy Tea Rooms by the parents of the bride and bridegroom.

The bride’s mother wore a smart ensemble of navy blue and white and carried a cyclamen bouquet. The bridegroom’s mother was attired in a charming gown of electric blue lace and carried a bouquet of pink camelias and friesias. The bouquets were made by Miss D. Kemp, a friend of the bride. Amid showers of confetti Mr and Mrs Booth left by car for the North, where the honeymoon is to be spent. The bride travelled in a smart tailored costume of navy blue with a squirrel fur, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaids were crystal necklaces, The future home of Mr and Mrs Booth will be at Eketahuna.
