BRIDGE EVENING

MAHUNGA GOLF CLUB. A very pleasant bridge evening arranged by the ladies’ social committee of the Mahunga Golf Club took place on Saturday evening, at the home of Mr and Mrs A. H. Ward, Cambridge Terrace, Masterton. Mrs Ward wore a smart floral gown in pink georgette. Seven tables were arranged in two rooms, and several large bowls of spring flowers added charm to the whole scene. The ladies’ social committee, to whom much praise is due for their efforts during the whole of this season, is as follows: Mesdames A. H. Ward, L. M. Roach, Misses M. Johnson and I. Rudd.

In a few well chosen, words Mr Geo Wagg (Club Captain) thanked the host and hostess in allowing the use of their home for the evening. Mr Ward briefly acknowledged. Mrs E. K. Eastwood, and Mr J. W. Dove were winners of the ladies’ and men’s prizes, respectively. The following were among those present, Mesdames I. Hart, L. M. Roach, H. Brickman, E. K. Eastwood, H. N. Joyce, W. L. Marchbank, D. Hunn and Martin, Misses Colemon, M. Johnson, F. Polson, M. Downes, I. Rudd, Goodall, Hunter and E. Wyber, Messrs J. G. McFarlane, I. Hart, J. W. Dove, E. K. wood, T. Jack, G. R. Ward, H. Brickman, Geo Wagg, D. Hunn, L. M. Roach, B. Boyce and W. Hosking.
