SPRING FLOWERS

MARTINBOROUGH DAFFODIL SOCIETY ANNUAL SHOW YESTERDAY. EXCELLENT ENTRIES RECEIVED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Parish Hall, Martinborough, was a riot of colour yesterday when the Martinborough Daffodil Society held its annual spring show. Excellent entries were received and the show was an outstanding success from every angle. The standard of the blooms exhibited was the subject of much favourable comment from the judges and was uniformly good throughout. The detail arrangements for the show were capably carried out by the joint secretaries, Misses C. Taylor and R. Kershaw. There was a large attendance of the public throughout the afternoon and evening. Points prizes were won as follows: — Best narcissi, Mr W. H. Booth; most points in cottagers’ class, Mrs F. E. Perry; best seedling trumpet, Miss M. C. Martin. Detail awards were as follow: — CUT BLOOMS. (Judge: Mr H. L. Esau.) Narcissi, Miss Martin 1, Mr W. H. Booth 2. Trumpets, Mr W. H. Booth 1, Miss M. C.
