MAURICEVILLE DAIRY CO.

SUPPLIERS’ ANNUAL MEETING REVIEW BY THE CHAIRMAN (“Times-Age” Special) Continuing his survey of the operations of last season at the annual meeting of the Mauriceville Dairy Company the chairman of directors, Mr V. K. Lemberg) said that during the winter the factory had been overhauled, and the manager had reported that everything was ready for any increase in supply. Favourable reference was made by Mr Lemberg K to the improved method of transport of cream from the southern areas. The system had resulted in a very noticeable decrease in collection cost. Also, by the use of the lorry they were able to have fresh Mauriceville butter at all stores along the line each morning. Mr Lemberg emphasised the fact that the butter was of the finest quality, and appealed to members of the public to try the product. Discussing farming problems generally, Mr Lemberg said that during the autumn there had been a delay in the transport of fertilisers for top-dress-ing. He advised farmers to make their future orders early. The new season had opened up quite well and they were looking forward to an increase in output, which they should have if weather conditions were favourable. The chairman thanked the suppliers for their co-operation and support. “I assure you we are going to do the very best we can for ybu,” he said.

It was decided to make a recommendation to the directors that they should go into the question of holding some form of celebration to mark the fiftieth year of the company’s foundation. Messrs A. V. Madsen and A. Campbell were re-elected directors. Mr A. Keith was re-appointed auditor.

It was decided to donate £lO to the funds of the publication, “Progress,” which was -delivered free to 64,000 farmers in New Zealand. On the motion of the chairman, it was* decided to pay a dividend of 5 pei’ cent on all paid-up capital of the company.
