The fact that during a pre-election period like the present men are employed throughout the country in merely seeing that people are on the electoral roll (which in any case is compulsory by law) is demonstration enough that many take singularly little interest in the constitutional rights. Few. however, can reach the heights of indifference of a man who was heard in Dannevirke to remark: "Well, who is this Savage chap, anyway?”
