The Japanese'right wing has occupied Changpoling. ADVANCE CHECKED ACCORDING TO CHINESE REPORT. JAPANESE UNITS TRAPPED. (Recd This Day, 9.25 a.m.) HANKOW, September 9. Chinese military headquarters report the recapture of Kwangtsi, which the Japanese took earlier in the week. The Japanese are reported to be retreating towards Huangmei, after heavy losses, leaving units entrapped between Kwangtsi and Huangmei, entailing the repulse of one of the main attacks on Hankow. The Chinese also claim the recapture of Fenglingtu, thus forcing back the Japanese from the north bank of the Yellow River and removing the threat to the Lung Hai Railway. The Japanese maintain their advance between the Yellow and Yangtse rivers and are now sixty miles from the Peking-Hankow Railway.
