OBITUARY

MR H. LYSTON. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital yesterday at the age of 24, of a well-known and highly respected resident of the Pirinoa district in the person of Mr Harry Lyston. He was taken suddenly ill and entered the hospital last Saturday morning. He was a puopular young man and entered into the activities of the Pirinoa district with much enthusiasm. ■He had been employed by Mr Guy Gillies since he took up his residence there some years ago. He leaves a mother and two sisters, all of Wellington. The funeral took place at the Masterton cemetery today.

MRS LOUISA JANE CLARKE. The death occurred yesterday, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs Walker, 100 Bentley Street, Masterton, of Mrs Louisa Jane Clarke, at the age of 81 years. The late Mrs Clarke, who had resided in the Kopuaranga district for 54 years, was married at Te Aute. She was well known throughout the Kopuaranga district. She is survived by her husband, Mr George Henry Clarke, two daughters, Mesdames Wrigley (Levin) and Walker (Masterton) and six sons, Messrs W. A. and A. H. Clarke (Masterton), A. (Mauriceville), F. J. (Kopuaranga), J. B. (San Francisco) and R. A. Clarke (Wellington). She was predeceased by two sons and two daughters. Tnere are 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomorrow (Sunday), leaving the residence of her daughter, 100 Bentley Street, at 3 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.

MRS A. K. McKENZIE. The death occurred in the Masterton Hospital yesterday of Mrs Iris Margaret McKenzie, wife of Mr Angus Kenneth McKenzie, of Te Kamu Station, Wellington, at the age of 23 years. The late Mrs McKenzie, who was married in Invercargill, was on a visit to Masterton when she was taken ill. She is survived by a widower and a two months old daughter. The interment will be private.
