General situation: An anti-cyclone extends from the north-east Tasman Sea across the Dominion, with centres of high pressure west of Auckland and east of the South Island, and rather lower pressure in the Bay of Plenty and East Cape areas. A shallow depression is crossing across the south Tasman. Forecast: Light to moderate and variable winds, with north-east to northerly predominating. Weather: Fine and mild, but cloud gradually increasing. Cold tonight.
