THEFT ADMITTED
FORMER CLUB SECRETARY IN COURT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The former secretary of the Hutt Baseball Club, Stuart Arthur Ferguson, stood in the dock in the Magistrate s Court today and admitted the theft of club funds. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within twelve months. He was charged with, fraudulently emitting to pay or account for sums of money totalling £8 12s to the Hutt Baseball Club. Ferguson was secretary of the club last year and all moneys were paid to and kept by him, said Detective-Sergt Bickerdike. He removed Lower Hutt to Eastbourne and when he was requested to attend a meeting of the club he failed to do so. Later he came to Christchurch, and when he was interviewed by police he was quite frank. Ferguson admitted that he had converted the money to his own use because he was in financial difficulties.
