SESSION TO END
PROBABLY ON SATURDAY WEEK STATEMENT BY PREMIER CLEARING WAY FOR ELECTION (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister (the Rt Hon M. J. Savage), announced today that an attempt would be made to conclude the session on Saturday week. He would seek the co-operation of the Opposition to put through the remainder of the legislative programme, which would include the following bills:—Finance Bill, King George V. Memorial Fund Bill, New Zealand Centennial Bill, Education Amendment Bill, Samoa Amendment Bill, Local Legislation, Local Legislation, Reserves and Other Lands Disposal and Native Purposes Bills, the last three of which were “washing-up” measures, and the usual Appropriation Bill. Mr Savage said there was nothing in any of the measures that should hold up the House. Before the House rose, he wtuld tell members all about the election, nomination day and so on, and when the election would take place. He would also outline the broadcasting facilities that would be made available to all parties. He would move this afternoon that on and after next Monday the House should sit on Mondays.
