FORMER PRINCE
COUNT COVADONGA FATALLY INJURED SON OF EX-KING ALFONSO MIAMI, September 6. The Count of Covadonga, eldest son of ex-King Alfonso of Spain, died six hours after admission to hospital following a motor-car accident in which he received a fractured leg. The car, which was driven by a companion, Miss Mildred Gaydon, aged 25, crashed into a telephone pole. The Count was on his way home at dawn from the casino. A physician said that death was due to heart failure and shock. The Count of Covadonga is the former Prince of the Asturias. He broke off relations with his father when he married against ex-King Alfonso’s wish in 1933. Since then he has been divorced and remarried. He was 31 years of age.
