THE REGENT
DEANNA DURBIN AGAIN: Tonight this brilliant young star will make a welcome reappearance in “100 Men and a Girl.” A splendid cast supports Miss Durbin, not the least of whom are Adolphe Menjou, Mischa Aver, Alice Brady and Eugene Pallette. Friday will be the last occasion on which “100 Men and a Girl” will be screened in Masterton. “FIREFLY” ON SATURDAY. “Firefly,” Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer’s spectacular musical romance starring Jeanette McDonald, Allan Jones, Warren William and Douglas Dunbrille will come to the Regent on Saturday next. Critics state that “Firefly” embraces all the adventure, romance, melody and spectacle of Miss McDonald’s previous vehicle, and the range of songs included in this exceptional film provide her first screen opportunity to present a golden voice to the greatest advantage. She sings “Love Is Like a Firefly,” “I Adore You,” “A Woman’s Kiss,” “He Who Loves And Runs Away,” “Giannini Mia,” and the now famous “Sympathy,” while Allan Jones who will be remembered as Gaylord Ravenal in “Show Boat,” superbly renders the popular number, “The Donkey’s Serenade.” There are many other high-lights in this fascinating film which will play for a season of four nights and a matinee.
