M, Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— I Barograph, 30.25 shade temperature, maximum 62.2, minimum 44.8: terrestrial, 36.1; sunshine, 5 hours 25 minutes; rain, trace. General situation: A shallow depression was centred at 9 a.m. over Taranaki, an anticyclone is advancing across the Tasman Sea and pressure is falling again over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to strong south-east to southerly winds; weather unsettled, with further rain but improving tomorrow; temperatures cool.
