Mrs Don Smith is a Porangahau visitor to Alfredton where she is the guest of Mrs M. Godinagh. Mrs N. A. Fraser, of Christchurch, is, a guest of her sister, Mrs F. Schormann, Eketahuna. Mrs Edmondson, of Wellington, was a weekend visitor to Featherston, where she was the guest of her sister Mrs N. C. C. Shepherd. • Miss*M. Ross, M.A., has returned to Wangaehu after her vacation, the first week of which she spent on a motor tour of Taranaki with Miss A. Hutchinson, late of Lansdown. During ' the past week Miss Ross was the guest of Miss Janet Atkinson, Wadestown, Wellington. • At the Makuri Hall recently Mr and Mrs Johnson gave a party to a number of friends to mark the 21st birthday of their daughter Miss Nalda Johnson, a very happy time being spent. Visitors were present from the Bush, Wairarapa, Napier, Dannevirke, Waipukurau and other districts. ENGAGEMENTS. The engagement is announced of< Nita Louise, younger daughter of the late Mr and Mrs T. Ingley, Te Ore Ore, to William, younger son of Mr and Mrs George Ball, Chapel Street, Masterton. The engagement is announced of Lauris Bertha, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs William Hearn, of Berhampore, to Owen Bruce, third son of Mr and Mrs William Carter, of Featherston. The engagement of Hazel Amy, second daughter of Mrs Lock and the late Mr Ivor Lock, Albert Street, Masterton, and formerly of Melbourne, Australia, to lan Ward Morris, fifth son of Mrs Morris and the late Mr Joseph Morris, of Te Ore Ore, is announced.
