PROFESSIONAL MATCH. BLOMFIELD v MEEHAN. Few wrestlers have performed with greater brilliance this season than Pat Meehan, who is to meet “Lofty” Blomfield, the New Zealand champion, in a professional wrestling bout at Masterton on Monday night. Meehan has proved to be a worthy successor to notable visitors from Canada in the past and, at the present time, is showing better form than at any previous stage of the season. Equipped with a pair of long and powerful legs, Meehan uses them to the fullest effect but his wrestling is nothing if not versatile. The speed at which Meehan moves is frequently nothing short of amazing. Before adopting the mat sport as a profession he had won the Canadian amateur title for two years in succession while serving as a member of the North-West Mounted Police. The many fine performances which Meehan has given this season make it plain that Blomfield will have to be right up to his best form if he is to take the honours. Blomfield recently has been showing probably the best form of his career. The plan is now open at Orange’s and seats may be booked without extra charge. For the convenience of South Wairarapa patrons reserves and tickets are available at Hughan’s Garage, Carterton.
