TAR SPOTS ON CAR
HOW TO REMOVE THEM. Tar spots on coachwork can be removed by means of furniture cream in which the juice of a lemon has been squeezed. This is applied to the tar spots and allowed to soak in for a few minutes. The tar can be removed by. a soft cloth and a final polish with a chamois leather will bring the coachwork to its original condition. Eucalyptus oil is another useful cleansing agent for tar spots. For cleaning the body-work, a mixture for this purpose can be made by dissolving loz of finely flaked beeswax in half pint of petrol (keep away from any naked light). This should be applied with a soft rag. when the petrol will soon evaporate, leaving a film of wax behind which can be polished off to give a bright surface. To give a high polish to the glass, sprinkle methylated spirit on a soft- clean duster, and apply. This also prevents the smeared scratched appearance that so often arises.
