Outstanding winners at the European athletic championships, in which 23 nations are competing in an Olympic programme, include the following: 100 metres: Osendarp (Holland), time 10.5 sec. 200 metres: Osendarp, time 21.2 sec. 400 metres: A. G. K. Brown, (Britain), time 47.45ec. 800 metres: Hardig (Germany), time 110.6 sec. 5000 metres: Maeki (Finland), time 14min 26.8 sec. . 110 metres, hurdles: D. O. Finlay (Britain), 14.3 sec, a European record. Long jump: Leichum (Germany), distance 25ft L’in. Hammer-throw: Hein (Germany), distance 192 ft 9.? in, a world record. STILL UNBEATEN. LOVELOCK’S 1500 METRES RECORD. (Recd This Day, 10.15 a.m.) PARIS, September 5. At the European championships S. C. Wooderson won the 1500 metres in 3 minutes 51 2-5 seconds, some seconds slower than Lovelock’s world record, which it is believed he was attempting to beat. ‘
