Advertising on the Air. I An admission that he did not like advertising over the air was made by the Hon W. Nash (Minister of Finance) in his address to supporters at Petone on Friday evening. Mr Nash said he had to admit that some people liked advertising by means of the radio, but he did not, and he did not know why people who had their advertisements in the newspapers also wanted them over the air. Mr Nash said he did not intend to refer to the Commercial Broadcasting Service apart from saying that he did not know anyone who had given more time to the-“under-dog” than Mr C. G. Scrimgeour. The letter, which is signed by Mr Frederick C. Meyers, of Indianapolis, U.S.A., is as follows: —“As a student of globular facts, and as you are situated some miles from the States around the world, I wonder if you could tell me from your vast store of knowledge if any ship ever came into your port on a beeline from Cape Horn, South America, and if you have ever heard of any Antarctic Expedition that ever traversed the South Pole and landed at the nearest land point in Africa. I do thank you for the answer to the foregoing questions, and if I can be of any service or answer any questions for you I shall be only too glad to do so, about the U.S.A., etc. I thank you.”
