STUD RAMS
EXPORT OF CORRIEDALES TO UNITED STATES. A very valuable Corriedale ram hogget, bred in the original flock of the Corriedale breed, was exported last month to New York, and, last week, two more valuable rams of this breed were exported to the United States via the Pacific Coast. The Corriedale is a very' popular sheep in North America although, due to economic conditions, it is some years now since an importation into that country was made. All three of the Corriedale rams just exported were bred in the noted Hui Hui Stud owned by the Trustees H. T. Little, Hawarden, North Canterbury. They were selected not only as being typical of the Corriedale breed, as having the best mutton qualities for which the breed is famed. It is the low set, thick and heavy carcased type that has the preference in the United States. The ram sent to New York is the first ever to be despatched to that port. The rams wei-e selected by Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., who arranged for both shipments.
