WRESTLING
AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS. Good entries have been received for the Wairarapa amateur wrestling championships, and some keen contests should be witnessed next Wednesday evening when these will be decided in the local club’s gymnasium. The Featherston Club is entering a strong team, but will be stoutly opposed by Masterton and Eketahuna for local honours. The Wellington Provincial Championships will be held in Wellington on Saturday, September 10, at which the Wairarapa will be represented by some of its champions. Local enthusiasts will also be interested to know that the Wairarapa Association has been allotted the professional match, Blomfield versus Meehan which will take place in Masterton on Monday week, September 12.
