General situation: An anticyclone still covers eastern Australia and extends over the western and southern Tasman Seri; pressure has risen in southern New Zealand though the rising is low i n the north. .Forecast: Moderate to strong south-easterly to southerly winds rising to gale force at times in exposed positions. Weather cold and changeable; with rain at times but gradually improving.
