THEFT OF MAILBAGS
CONTAINING £3,000 IN NOTES. LOSS ON QUEENSLAND TRAIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. BRISBANE, August 31. Two mailbags containing £3,000 in bank notes were stolen from a Mount Isa train near Cloncurry last night The money was for miners’ pay at Mount Isa. The police believe that the robbery is linked with similar raids on trains in 1926 and 1931. Last night’s robbery was not discovered until the train’s arrival at its destination.
