CAPTAIN H. M. BARNES
1 COMING TO NEW ZEALAND SUPERINTENDENT OF AUCKLAND NAVAL YARD. (Recd This Day, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 31. Captain H. M. Barnes, of the Royal Navy, has been lent to New Zealand for the newly-created post of Captain Superintendent of the naval repair yard at Auckland. Captain Barnes served in destroyers during the Great War, and was engaged in the operations in the Dardanelles. He commanded destroyers After the war. He recently attend the senior officers’ course.
