Goldwyn’s Plans. Goldwyn’s picture dealing with Austrian exiles has been shelved and he is offering the story rights for sale. Instead he is planning two violent dramas, one based on the founder of Scotland Yard, a story of 19th century gangsterdom in England. His second will be “Dry Guillotine” an exposure of the French penal settlement. Incidentally the spectacular technicolour production, “The Goldwyn Follies” said to be the crowning achievement of Samuel Goldwyn’s career as a produccer, will be screened at the State Theatre shortly. The film contains a wealth of talent and beauty from the opera, radio and the.screen. Helen Jepson and Charles Kullman, notable vocalists from the Metropolitan Opera; Borina, premiere ballerina from the BgJlet Russe; Charlie McCarthy.and “his voice” Edgar Bergen, Phil Baker of radio fame; and the American Ballet are but a few of the notable artists Goldwyn secured for the film.
