NEW VERSION OF THE BIBLE
Twelve scholars chosen by the International Council of Religious Education began at Chicago the five-year task of revising the Bible to produce “an official version embodying the best results of modern scholarship.” Among them are two who have already published translations of the Bible —Professor James Moffat, of the Union Theological Seminary of New York, and Professor Edgar J. Goodspeed, of the University of Chicago. Dr William A. Irwin, also of Chicago, is another member of the group. The International Council is composed of representatives of 40 Protestant denominations in the United States and Canada and of 30 State councils of religious education.
