INCREASED COMPETITION
BIDDING AT MASTERTON STOCK SALE. VALUES FIRM SLIGHTLY. Although values only hardened slightly on last week, there was increased competition and more spirited bidding at today’s Masterton stock sale. The entry was fairly large and the quality and condition were good. Light fat ewes made from 12s to 15s and heavy fat ewes brought 14s 3d, 16s 3d, 17s to 18s 6d. Fat lambs sold at 22s 6d and fat hoggets at 24s Id. Several large pens of white face wether hoggets made 19s and 19s Id. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers.
