DR. VON SCHUSCHNIGG

FIRST NEWS OF IMPENDING TRIAL. HEARD FROM Hls'wiFE. LONDON, August 29. The Vienna correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” reports that Dr von Schuschnigg, Austria’s last Federal Chancellor, accidentally heard the news of his forthcoming trial from his wife during one of her infrequent short visits under guard. She assumed that her husband was aware of the trial and made passing reference to it. He was greatly distressed. The correspondent adds that public opinion in Austria is far from unanimous in condemning Dr Schuschnigg.
