ANOTHER WIN

NEW ZEALAND SCHOOLBOYS’ SOCCER TEAM MAINTENANCE OF UNBEATEN RECORD SYDNEY, August 29. The New Zealand schoolboys’ Soccer team concluded their engagements at Sydney today when they defeated Metropolitan 6-1, thus retaining their unbeaten record. The visitors gave an impressive display on the firm turf, although they were hampered by the wind. Their effective combination overwhelmed the weak opposition. Singer opened the scoring with a shot that hit the upright, bounced and was blown by the high wind into the goal. A weak clearance gave. Singer his second goal, when he tapped into the net. Yeoman bustled through the backs and left the goalie standing to make New Zealand 3-0 at half-time. New Zealand’s fourth goal resulted from a hard drive by Yeoman. Metropolitan scored after a mix-up in the goalmouth. Then, New Zealand fighting against the wind, took the ball the length of the field for Yeoman to score again. After the goal kick Taylor received from Singer and, in a tricky run, outwitted the defence. Yeoman finished the move with a spectacular shot.

The New Zealand team was: Munro, Taylor, McKenzie, Hall, Richardson, Buckland, Singer, Davey, Yeoman, Irvine, McLachlan. The team leaves for Melbourne tomorrow.
