Miss A. M. Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:— Barograph, 29.82. Shade temperature: Maximum 67.8, minimum 49.8, terrestrial 45.9. Sunshine, 5 hours 48 min. Rain, 3 points. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that four points of rain fell at Solway during the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today. General situation: A depression still covers New Zealand with the lowest pressure in the south to the east; pressure is falling while over Eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea it is rising. Forecast: Light to moderate north-westerly to westerly winds, occasionally freshening and backing to south-westerly or southerly by tomorrow. Weather: Mainly fair to cloudy but a few scattered showers probable in western areas at first and later more generally with the southerly change; temperatures moderate but becoming cooler.
