ZULU’S ESCAPADE

ASLEEP IN A DENTIST'S CHAIR. A Durban dentist was passing his office the other night when he.noticed that the lights were on. He went in and found a brawny Zulu lying asleep in the dentist’s chair. The telephone was in his hand, and scattered about the table was an assortment of drugs. All efforts to wake the Zulu failed. He was in a deep coma, having helped himself liberally to novo-cocaine, methylated spirits, and bromide. The reception room and two surgeries were in disorder, and when the Zulu was carried out to a police van, the dentist's fountain pen, a bunch of keys, and the nurse’s sewing fell from his pockets. When he recovered sufficiently to face the magistrate, the Zulu explained that he had been too drunk to know what he was doing. He is now spends ing three months in gaol.
