LADIES’ TOURNAMENT. YESTERDAY’S RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, August 29. The New Zealand women’s hockey tournament was continued in showery weather. The ground was slippery after heavy week-end rain. Eastern Southland disposed of the strongest opposition in section B by rattling on four goals in the second half against Auckland. Eastern Southland and Taranaki lead section B. Canterbury has a three-point lead in section C, and Ashburton is one point ahead of Wanganui in section A. Results:— Section A: Ashburton 3, Hawke's Bay 2; Wanganui 3, Manawatu 1. Section B: Eastern Southland 4, Auckland 0; Taranaki 2, Wellington 1; Poverty Bay B 3, Ruahine 0. Section C: Canterbury 8, Nelson 0; Feilding 2, Akitio 2
