The Prime Minister, M Daladier, told the Radical Socialists that he had nothing to add or withdraw from his broadcast of August 21. England, Sweden and Belgium worked a 48-hour week in most industries. It was essential in the interests of defence that firms requiring extra hours should have them without prohibitive overtime. The meeting passed a resolution of confidence in the Premier.
