NATIONAL PARTY’S STRONG ORGANISATION. MR HAMILTON INTERVIEWED IN AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, August 24. “On our side of politics we have never had such an organisation as we have at present. It is complete and effective from Stewart Island to the Bay of Islands,” said the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Adam Hamilton, in an interview after his arrival from Wellington. ■ Mr Hamilton was accompanied by Mrs Hamilton, who is visiting Auckland for. the first time since her husband became Leader of the Opposition. “There- is not a backward part,” Mr Hamilton continued. “We are well advanced with the, selection .of candidates. Only eight or 10 remain to be chosen and most of these will be selected in the near future. The new constitution practically gives electorates control of their own affairs in organisation and the selection of candidates,” he added. '“This' has proved very effective. ■ “Our ranks are very united. All political parties and various sections of the community opposed, to the present Socialist Government are united in a wonderful way to redeem the position for New Zealand. We have associated with us members of practically all the. historic political groups.:, of New Zealand —Seddon, Ward, Hall-Jones, Massey, Bell, and Taylor,” Mr Hamilton continued. “Sons or daughters of all of these great figures are associated with us, either as candidates or in connection with our organisation.’!?’ Mr Hamilton, who. brought.. best wishes from the Parliamentary section of the party and South Island supporters, said he was delighted . "with the advance in enthusiasm shown by the Auckland division of the party. He? said that he was taking the opportune ity of a visit to Auckland'for-the; Junior National League’s ball to make close contacts with the Natibnal’Party organisation’s executive and new candidates in Auckland. “Auckland carries great :. voting" strength and I am looking to National supporters to put their best foot forward,” Mr Hamilton added.- “Auckland province carries one-third of the voting strength of New Zealand. It .is very important that we should have support in this district.’
