NIGHT SHOW

IMPROVEMENTS SUGGESTED.

Suggestions for the improvement of the night show were discussed by the Masterton A. and P. Association yesterday. The view was expressed that the events wanted to be of a spectacular nature to attract the public. Highland dancing and motor-cycle events were almost sure to be held. In order to make the ground safer for motorcycle racing it was decided to have the surface improved by removing the undulations. Suggestions were made for the holding of the inter-house girls event at night, for the inclusion of a light horse race, for a coursing event and for harrier races and athletics. The secretary, Mr R. H. Williams, considered that a separate fixture might be arranged some time before the show. Mr D. B. Curry said he understood that some kind of carnival was to be held by the business people of Masterton in December. “The association might be able to arrange for the carnival to finish up at the showgrounds,” he said. , , The president, Mr P. R. Welch: We have the lights installed at the grounds. We might as well use them more than once during the year.” After'further discussion the meeting decided to complete arrangements at a later date.
